Session #97 · 1981–83

Speech #970201954

But we must not stop short of our goal of freedom for this brave woman. Soviet officials must know that we are aware of the difference between appeasement and justice. Ida Nudels struggle continues as long as she is denied the right to emigrate to Israel and is at the mercy of Soviet officials. We must send the Soviets the message that we remain vigilant in our concern for Ida Nudel. I ask my colleagues to join me in reaffirming our commitment to total freedom for Ida Nudel. a freedom defined as nothing short of her right to emigrate to Israel.*
