Mr. Chairman. I simply want to commend the gentleman from Kentucky for his leadership not only in guiding this bill. but the full driving force behind the Immigration Subcommittees work in bringing about legislation this year. It has been tremendous leadership. With regard to the gentlemans comments. which I respect and appreciate. on the issue of the national impact of the additional numbers. not only on my State of Florida but in States like New Jersey. Michigan. and all over this country. I commend the gentleman for making those comments as well. We have a course to chart yet to be done to determine how we can fairly apportion the burdens that are thrust upon us by the numbers of those who come to our shores. and especially under unusual circumstances.
