Session #97 · 1981–83

Speech #970188399

Mr. Speaker. I yield myself as much time as I may use. Mr. Speaker. the gentleman from Florida certainly is familiar with this act. serving in a district where he has literally thousands of refugees. But I think all of the people of this country are concerned about the Carter administrations opening up the door for refugees to come into this country and creating a burden on the taxpayers of this country. But once they are here the Federal Government has a responsibility to be of help. Mr. Speaker. there is controversy involved with certain provisions of this bill which will be brought up in the debate when the bill is considered on the floor.
