British Columbia. and as near as my home of Pittsfield. Mass. It is in this community that Father Santini has carved deep a place in the hearts of the people for himself. This community is one near to my heart. The man who served it was as humble and full of love as those who founded it. The Mount Carmel Church began in a basement. Impoverished immigrants from Italy. such as my parents. founded it. They scrimped and saved to build a house that matched their devotion to God. However. this beautiful church could not have been built without the thorough. efficient and selfless work of Father Santini.
