What a splendidly captioned award this is. I am reminded of the painting which hangs in the House of Representatives dining room signed. "C. Brumidi. ArtistCitizen of the U.S." Constantino Brumidi was twice a citizen in the finest sense. Born a citizen of Italy. Brumidi became a naturalized citizen of the United States. and wa3 deeply proud of the fact. Drawn to America by the promise of individual freedom. Brumidis highest goal was to repay the country which had given him the gift of liberty by designing works of art to help make its Capitol Building the most beautiful on Earth.
