She has remained strong throughout her ordeal and she has impressed so many Members of Congress with her courage and undaunted spirit during her Siberian exile. that she cannot be easily forgotten. Neither will the Soviets be allowed to forget her. Ida has suffered enough. The banner she hung outside her apartment in 1978: "K.G.B.. Give Me My Visa." is the only "crime" she can be convicted of. Yet. this act was enough to condemn her to isolation. The torment of her sentence and years of suffering will be in vain if we do not constantly raise her case with Soviet officials.
