I would urge that the United Nations condemn such action and impose even wider economic sanctions. My heart goes out to the Polish people whose heroic courage has been an example to the entire world. The Polish people have given so much to our society. through their sons and daughters in the United States. I hope we can now do something to help them in their own country. and I hope that President Reagan will heed the measure expressed by the House of Representatives yesterday to halt deportation proceedings involving Polish citizens until it is determined that the political situation in Poland is stable..
