There are no Telexs or telephone communications emanating from Polandwe have to rely primarily on the news coming from the Governments radio programs and a few eyewitness accounts. Now is certainly not the time to deport the thousands of Polish citizens living in America on a temporary status. As long as the stability and political future remain in doubt. it could be disastrous for these people to be sent back. Our sense of compassion. our commitment to freedom. and our humanitarian traditions demand that we swiftly pass this resolution and urge President Reagan to halt the deportation of Polish nationals from this country.
