I asked unanimous consent to withdraw it. Objection was made and a request for a vote was made on the other side. however. it did achieve its purpose. It got a great deal of attention for something that we think is very. very important. The amendment before us now. the amendment of the gentleman from Kentucky cuts some $160 million from the Coast Guard. It would get the Coast Guard off the backs of drug smugglers. foreign fishermen. and illegal aliens and people who are drowning. If that is what you want the Government off the backs of. I suggest that you vote for this amendment.
