Mr. President. I would like to bring to the attention of the Senate the fact that the latest Senate action on the StateJusticeCommerce appropriations bill for fiscal year 1982. as well as the Senatepassed version of the first continuing resolution. provided for $110 million of additional funds for the Immigration and Naturalization Service. During the conference on the first continued resolution. $45 million of these funds were deleted in the effort to reduce overall spending levels. This cut is now reflected in the second continuing resolution which we are now considering. Mr. President. I fully recognize the painful decisions which the conferees on the continuing resolution faced in their attempt to reduce spending levels.
