In 1980. CWS supported activities in 74 countries and the United States. Most of this funding came from church denominations. congregations. and individuals. About 43 percent originated with the U.S. Government due to U.S. interest in supporting CWS activities in Kampuchea and resettlement of refugees in the United States. About 30 percent of its funds came from the U.S. Government. in 1978 LWR was awarded an aidmatching grant of $3 million for a 3year period. to be matched by privately generated resources.
