Egypt. or the Middle East as circumstances might dictate. In addition to its contribution to the development of political democracy. and its strategic importance. there is another contribution that Greece has made to the United States. and that is. the contribution of many of its hardworking. spirited people to the shores of this country. Our Nation has been greatly enriched by the contributions made by emigrants from Greece. and I am very pleased that nany of these people have chosen to make Pennsylvania their home. Our ecol.omy. our culture. and our political ife have all been strengthened by their presence. Because of the values that Greece and he Greek people have developed. and practice. and because of the strategic mportance of Greece to the Eastern World.
