On this holy day of Rosh Hashanah a man is in jail in the Soviet Union because he expressed his desire to emigrate to Israel. a country not at war with the Soviet Union. such as Afghanistan. and because he freely talked about the reasons for wanting to leave that hostile. dictatorial environment. On charges of spreading fabrications defaming the Soviet State Victor Brailovsky was sentenced to 5 years detention in internal exile. To intimidate Dr.
