GreekAmericans in this country have prospered and. in the course of prospering. have worked to contribute to the strength of the United States and to deepen the values upon which this Republic is based. This is especially true where education is concerned. It is interesting to note that according to U.S. Census data. in the early years of Greek immigration into this country. Greeks ranked 18th out of 24 nationalities in median educational attainments. Yet in one generation. through the tremendous emphasis placed upon education by GreekAmerican families and the response of the children of those families. they have moved to the point of now being No. 1 amongst American ethnic groups where median educational achievement is concerned.
