I would like to remind some of our Members who have not been totally involved in this particular issue that the cost of refugee assistance has reached astronomical proportions and. unfortunately. none of us knows exactly what it costs. For example. in the bill before us. as I understand it. it calls for an authorization of $553.100.000 for the fiscal year 1982 and $555.600.000 for the following fiscal year. somewhat more than a half billion dollars in each year. However. this is nothing but the foam on the surface.
