A NavyCoast Guard task force recently identified three new military missions and five expanded military roles for the Coast Guard. Expanded oil drilling operations in the Arctic and on the Outer Continental Shelf throughout the United States. deep seabed mining and the likely expansion of ocean dumping will require new Coast Guard resources.
