In 1928 this fine paper took a dynamic turn when it was purchased by Generoso Pope. Generoso Pope and his son Fortune Pope were responsible for publishing I1 Progresso for the next 52 years. a period which saw the newspapers influence grow in responsibility and the shaping of events.
