Mr. Speaker. today. in joining several of my colleagues by participating in the Congressional Call to Conscience Vigil for Soviet Jewry. I would like to bring to the attention of this body the case of Izolde and Vladimir Tufeld. The Tufelds first applied for exit visas to emigrate to Israel to join their son. Igor. in 1977. Both were fired from their jobs and have been unable to work since. On the grounds of secrecy. three subsequent applications have also been denied. Vladimir and Izolde Tufeld have both received poor medical care in the Soviet Union. After being hospitalized when he suffered a heart attack in 1977.
