Session #97 · 1981–83

Speech #970041336

Many people are ignorant of the dismal record of the Cuban economy which is subsidized by the Soviet Union to the tune of $45 million per day. They are also unaware that freedom and justice are nonexistent in Castros island domain. For this reason. I am offering this amendment that will permit the International Communications Agency to release the film "In Their Own Words." As the title suggests. this film allows the Cuban refugees themselves to tell of the oppressive conditions in Cuba. The film provides an explanation for the massive boatlift that innundated Florida last year. As most of my distinguished colleagues are.
