My father is the lone survivor from a family of four. In 1942 his parents were deported to Treblinka. Later that year he received false identification papers. and posing as a nonJew fought with the Polish underground. He participated in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising in 1943. the Warsaw uprising of 1944. and then served as an intelligence officer for the Allies. � As a child I denied my unique background.
