Mr. Speaker. nearly 2 years ago. I rose to speak for the Rosenstein family. which had been trying unsuccessfully to obtain exit visas from the Soviet Union. I called upon my colleagues to continue to exert pressure on the Soviet Government to alleviate the suffering and oppression of Soviet Jews. Unfortunately. our efforts have had little tangible effect in helping to free the Rosensteins. and others. who simply want to raise their children in their Jewish homeland. with the opportunity to study the Hebrew language. history. and culture. In the 97th Congress. I wish to call upon my colleagues once again for their assistance on behalf of the Rosensteins.
