Half of the $26 million rescission requested for public telecommunications facilities is approved. The $92 million deferral requested for ship construction subsidies is approved. Funds for a number of Department of Justice programs are proposed for deferral pending transfer to other Department programs. The recipients of these transfers are mainly the FBI and the Immigration Service. Most of these transfers are approved. but only half of the transfer from State and local drug grants is approved. For the State Department. the bill includes an unrequested rescission of $84 million for assessed contributions to international organizations. except the OAS and other InterAmerican organizations.
