We know that there are Armenians living in Turkey today who do not enjoy the individual freedoms that we in this country take for granted. We also know that Armenians living here enjoy a solid place in American society and have contributed immeasurably to this society through their participation in the professions. the arts. the academic community. the Government. philanthropic endeavors and many other pursuits. The future. of course. lies in the hands of the thildren and grandchildren of the early immigrants to this land. They have inherited the meaning of the past and know that they are the keepers of the culture and traditions of a proud people. If they remember what happened. and if they do not allow silence to overcome them or us.
