Mr. President. I am introducing today. by request. a proposal to repeal sections 1353(a) and 1353(b) of chapter 8. United States Code. This measure would make uniform overtime compensation rates applicable to employees of the Immigration and Naturalization Service. It would also result in cost savings to the Government. An estimated $5.5 million could be saved annually with the enactment of this measure. I am introducing this proposal so that there may be a specific bill to which interested Senators and the public may direct comments. I ask unanimous consent that the bill. together with a letter from the Acting Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs at the Justice Department dated April 7. 1981. be printed in the RECORD.
