Mr. Speaker. I am absolutely opposed to the present administration policy in El Salvador because I think it is wrong. It is not in the best interests of our Nation. It is not in the best interests of El Salvadorparticularly those thousands of Salvadorans who have become refugees as a result of the violence. These refugees have been uprooted from their homes and been subjected to unspeakable horrorsall in the name of stopping communism. On January 9. 1981. I traveled to Central America as part of a delegation sponsored by the UnitarianUniversalist Service Committee. Congressman GERRY STUDDS and Congressman EDGAR were also part of that delegation.
