Dervenaia. as well as Missolonghi. where Lord Byron fought and died. rank among the most glorious exploits of the Greek Navy. which stirred the hearts of the peoples of Europe. who finally brought pressure upon their governments to intervene in the fight and to compel the Sultan to recognize Greek independence. The Greeks saw their valor and tenacity crowned with success. for freedom was regained with the Treaty of Adrianople of 1829 and the London Protocol of 1830. Mr. Speaker. a summary of the Greek Constitution follows. as does an overview of Greek immigration to the United States as published in the Greek Research and Publicity Centre book entitled.
