Mr. President. today I am introducing a bill to extend the life of the Select Commission on Immigration and Refugee Policy for 90 days after the report of its recommendations. This extension is to allow the Commission to complete its business and to allow the new administration to have a meaningful role in reviewing the Commissions recommendations. It has been my pleasure to serve on this Commission. I would like to commend the members for their dedication and hard work. Special thanks are owed to Father Hesburgh. who chaired the commission.
