I am pleased to call to my colleagues attention the remarkable record of Paul Santangelo. a constituent. who is marking his 50th year as the elected councilman from the fifth ward of Norristown. Pa.. a historic borough which is the government seat of Montgomery County. Born in the fifth ward. Mr. Santangelo has resided in the same house for most of his adult lifea life that has been devoted to serving and helping his community and its citizens. Norristowns East End was the home for many of the immigrants from Sicily and Sciacca. It was Paul who served as the interpreter and unofficial representative for these familyoriented immigrants making their way in a new country. Mr. Santangelo was elected on the Republican ticket in 1930 as fifth ward councilman.
