I thank the gentleman for yielding. Mr. Speaker. I rise in support of S. 3193. a bill to designate that the building at 26 Federal Plaza in the Borough of Manhattan. New York City. N.Y.. shall hereafter be known and designated as the "Jacob K. Javits Federal Building." The son of immigrant.parents. JACOB K. JAVITS was born on May 18. 1904. on the lower East Side of Manhattan. His birthplace is close to the Federal building that would be named in his honor. JAVITS was educated in New York Citys public schools and attended night classes at Columbia University. He was graduated from the New York University Law School in-.t926 and was admitted to the bar in 1927.
