Mr. Speaker. based upon the evidence. including the video tapes taken by the FBI and Mr. MYERS own statements. the committee has concluded. as has a trial jury. that Mr. MYERS is guilty of having violated the law by accepting $15.000 in return for his promise to use his influence to assist a supposed foreigner with immigration and other matters. by conspiring with others to do so. and by traveling interstate to do so. In my opinion. Mr. MYERS should be expelled from the House of Representatives now. not on the basis of the trial but on the basis of the evidence of what he did.
