HAYAKAWA. My bill. H.R. 6941. continues to pend in the Subcommittee on Immigration. Refugees. and International Law of the House Judiciary Committee. but no action has yet been scheduled. Enactment of this legislation is sorely needed now. so that we can deal swiftly and effectively with those Iranian fanatics who will surely again take to the streets of our country to spread their ugly smear campaign. Moreover. while the present administration has attempted to keep the focus of this crisis from the front pages of the press with the hope that it would prompt a speedy resolution. it has become obvious that some Iranians in this country will not let that happen.
