The strain was becoming so great that Marion developed ulcers. and she took a leave of absence from both her Communist organizing and her spying activities. By the end of 1955. the FBI told Marion that they had enough information to prove that the committee was a Communist front group. In October. Marion spent 5 days in Washington as a witness before the Subversive Activities Control Board Examiner.
