The Shah was an ally and friend of the United States for the past 35 years and when he died. we looked the other way. Our government has use6 this mans position and nation to our advantage and paid very little respect at the time of his death. We. as a nation. can receive refugees. fugitives. aliens and political advocates from other countries. but we can not assist a man who has helped stabilize a power struggle in the Middle East and who has helped this nation more than all of these people combined. What are the other leaders of the world who are our allies and who could come under similar conditions in the future to think? Will we abandon them?
