He understood Georgetowns fit into time and place. the burden. and the glory. of its tradition. He understood both what John Carroll had reached for In 1789. and how the growth of Church and state had altered that reach in the fulfillment of the 80s. Because of Georgetowns Catholic past he crowded and pushed the University Into the problems of Immigration and refugee management. His last work for Georgetown was a visit to Thailand to check on our graduate and undergraduate teams and to gain a firsthand knowledge of how the University might extend its service and it research.
