Session #96 · 1979–81

Speech #960278993

Mr. Speaker. on a number of occasions I have brought to the attention of my colleagues the plight of Dr. Mark Nashpitz. a former Soviet prisoner of conscience. who has been trying to secure an exit visa. in order to rejoin his family in Israel. I have now been informed of the birth of his first child. a baby boy. I am sure all of the Members of the House of Representatives join me in sending Dr. Nashpitz our best wishes not only on the health and happiness of his new son. but also in the fervent hope that he and his family will soon be allowed to emigrate to Israel so that the entire Nashpitz family may be reunited in accordance with the Helsinki agreement.
