The Senate gave it a perfunctory hearing. The House gave it no hearing at all. I have every year for the past few years introduced a comprehensive illegal alien or undocumentedworker bill. which would not stop the flow of traffic between Mexico and the United Stateswe need them. they need usbut we have been trying to reduce the flow. to formalize it. to have a guest worker program. or do something to bring it under control and make it manageable. But we cannot get a hearing in the Committee on the Judiciary. In the meanwhile. we at least ought to try to bolster the border patrol and enforce the law.
