Session #96 · 1979–81

Speech #960255262

He is saying there should be a limit of 650.000 immigrants. including members of families of citizens and including refugees. including everyone who comes to this country. Now here 2 hours after the debate began we get a new figure that says 650.000 have already been admitted to the United States this year. Yet the Senator from Kentucky maintains that there are only 550.000 that have been admitted so far CXXVI----962Part 12 this year and his amendment would allow an additional 100.000. and so far as I know both the Senator from Arizona and the Senator from Kentucky are getting their figures from the same source. Is that a fair statement?
