Mr. Chairman. I will not take long. This is a very simple amendment. It simply cuts out about $750 million in this massive foreign aid bill. It does not in any way disturb the funds for Israel or Egypt or the Middle East peacekeeping operation. nor does it disturb the fundingof American schools or hospitals abroad or international narcotics control or migration and refugee assistance. It does. however. present a substantial reduction in all other areas. It is my belief that the total amount of money in this bill can stand some cutting. In most all areas it is over the Presidential request. as well as over what a prudent government. laboring under the economic restrictions that we have in this country. should consider for these programs.
