D.C.. takes this opportunity to address itself to certain issues pertaining to Nicaragua which were raised in hearings conducted by the Subcommittee on InterAmerican Affairs of the House Foreign Affairs Committee on May 20. 1980: Nicaragua. foremost. is in no position to offer assistance of any sort to Cuban refugees due to our dire economic circumstances. Furthermore. Nicaragua regards the entire matter as a bilateral issue between the United States of America and Cuba.
