Mr. Speaker. as the chairman of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs stated in the Chamber earlier today. we are advised that the Administrator of Veterans Affairs has authorized the placement of 13 Cuban refugees in the VA Medical Center in Tampa. Fla. These refugees. I am told are psychiatric patients. We have not been advised as to the length of stay of these individuals. Mr. Speaker. VA hospitals were created for American veteransthose individuals who served our country in time of war. They were established for a special class of U.S. citizens. I am. therefore. disappointed with the Administrators decision.
