Mr. Speaker. last Sunday. April 27. was Ida Nudels 49th birthdaythe second she has spent in brutal exile in Siberia for the simple "crime" of declaring her desire to emigrate to Israel. Her plight has captured world attention. Last November. Congress passed a resolution condemning her imprisonment and demanding that she be permitted to rejoin her family in freedom. Today. we renew that demand. I want to thank my colleagues. Representative EDWARD STACK and Representative MICHAEL BARNES. for again providing an opportunity for us to express our concern. Over the past several years. Ida Nudel has won a special place in the hearts of thousands.
