Speech #960224563

Speaker. I thank my colleague for yielding. I. too. wish to express my appreciation to the gentleman for taking this time to call the attention of the House to the deprivation of Ida Nudel and the denial of her freedom of speech because she was willing to stand up to the KGB. just by presenting a sign from her balcony that read "KGB. give me my visa." Mr. Speaker. we are told by many of the people who have come from Russia. that statements of hope expressed on the floor of the House. do have an impact on many of the leaders of Russia. That is why I compliment the gentleman for making sure that this prisoner of conscience gets the proper recognition on a regular basis.
