Estonia. on August 24. 1937. He was forced to flee to Germany with his family when Communist armies invaded Estonia in 1944. He lived in displaced persons camps for the next 6 years with his mother Maie. father Hans. and his brother Henn. Reverend Rebane and his family emigrated to the United States on June 10. 1950. The Trinity Lutheran Church of St. Petersburg. the church Reverend Rebane now serves. was the same church that sponsored the Rebane family as refugees in 1950. Reverend Rebane attended public high school in Philadelphia and college in Allentown. Pa.. before returning to Philadelphia to enter the seminary.
