Session #96 · 1979–81

Speech #960198772

I have introduced a private bill to aid one of my constituents. in bringing her adopted daughter to this country. It is my sincere hope that the. Judiciary Committees Subcommittee on Immigration. Refugees. and International Law will act favorably on this measure to remove the barriers which prevent the reestablishment of a particular family unit. The case in question is clear cut. and essentially one which deserves the compassion and insight which the Congress can provide in such instances. Mrs. Rita Willis was born in Jamaica and immigrated to the United States in 1970. She is a permanent resident and has resided in Baltimore with her husband. Laurie Charles Willis. since that timb.
