Speaker. I requested this time to share with you and our colleagues the centennial of the PNA. One hundred years ago. on February 10. 1880. the first notices appeared in the English and German language newspapers in Philadelphia and in the Polish weekly Ogniwo of New York. announcing a meeting of Polish immigrants to be held at the offices of AndrzejkowiczDunn paint factory. 347 Third Street in Philadelphia. The notices explained that the meeting was being arranged for the purpose of appraising the feasibility of starting a nationwide organization of Polish immigrants for their betterment and protection. The notices were signed by Juliusz Andrzejkowicz. Julian Szajnert.
