The United States unilaterally has stopped all purchases of oil from Iran. has embargoed shipments to Iran. has blocked Iranian bank accounts in the United States. and has proceeded to identify and begin deportation proceedings against all Iranians who are illegally In the United States. It is my firm belief that this country should and will continue to apply pressure on Iran. consistent with your own personal safety and wellbeing and that of the other hostages. to obtain your release. President Carter and other high government officials have made this clear time after time.
