I understand the problems of my colleague. but I would have to admit I think he has entered some interesting observations in this debate. All of a sudden we have elevated an illegal alien to a secondclass citizen. I mean. how in the world can a person who is not a citizen in the first place be a secondclass citizen? Second. how can the President of the United States make promises to the heads of foreign countries. notwithstanding laws we have? The laws are very clear. I am just hoping the laws will be enforced. But I do agree with what the gentleman has said. the thrust of it and the fact that this is a manyfaceted problem.
