Jews are prime candidates for these dragnets. especially those who are involved with Jewish culture or who speak in opposition to the official position. The United States Is the worlds foremost advocate of freedom. It is our duty and responsibility to make the Soviet Union aware that we oppose their actions. By speaking out we draw attention to the issue. We must all speak out loudly and frequently. If we do not. there Is little hope for people like the Abramovichs. I am hopeful that continuing public pressure will result in the Abramovich family being allowed to immigrate from the Soviet Union.*
