Mr. Speaker. for the past few years a number of citizens in my district have been deeply involved in the struggle of two Soviet citizens. Gregory and Isai Goldstein to obtain permission to emigrate to Israel. Focus on the plight of the Goldsteins resulted from personal contact with them by Mrs. Silvia Thaler of Los Angeles. In addition to maintaining continuing contact with the Goldsteins. Mrs. Thaler enlisted the assistance of the late Rabbi Dr. Max Nussbaum. Dr. Nussbaum. in turn. encouraged his congregation at Temple Israel of Hollywood to join with other interested groups in a concerted effort to help the Goldstein brothers in their fight for freedom.
