We can work with other freedom loving nations of the world to contain communism. We can contribute our fair share to helping needy nations. We can work with the other nations of the world to solve refugee problems. to help other nations when calamity strikes. strive to maintain our nation as the strongest and most powerful in the world and recognize that having greater resources imposes a greater responsibility upon us in the world community than a less powerful nation. But at the same time. we can expect all other nations within the free world to contribute to the extent that their circumstances will permit. I have heard that a number of countries are accepting a few hundred refugees but am unaware that any nation is agreeable to accepting numbers anywhere comparable. or on a ratio comparable. to those coming into the United States.
